Then or Than?
This really has nothing to do with the quality or content of the writing in The Shack. It is a grammar question for you literary teachers and gurus. In the first paragraph of page 32, fourth line down...should the word be "then" or "than"? ("With his own voice a little huskier then usual...") -- Ashley SHAVER

It should be "than." So the question is, Was this a careless error or an intentional part of the breezy style?
I just started reading this evening. I have to confess, I'm having a hard time focusing on the story bc the roughness of the writing distracts me.

Isn't an error like that the editor's fault? I would hope that, if I were to write a book, there would be many careful eyes looking for such things. I'm a guilty misspeller, and I can type "form" instead of "from" with the worst of them.
Met hinks it is bolth the riters and the editers fawlt.
spelling and grammar is the sole responsiblity of the editor. as long as the writer writes enough for the editor to understand the word you are using, then everything that follows in a basic english class is up to the editor to catch, not necessarily fix, but to catch it at least notify the author.
